Selector

Selectors appear on pages that need to keep a few short, high-value notes near the top without taking over the rest of the layout. For the reader, they act like a compact explainer that can switch context without moving the rest of the page around.

Default Variant

This is the same selector pattern used throughout the Developer Portal when quick clarifications should be visible early.

In the Developer Portal, this usually appears before the main reference sections so common questions are answered early.

The active item slides smoothly and the content swaps without pushing you out of the current reading context.

It works best for short answers, setup notes, and common misunderstandings that should be visible early in a page.

How It Behaves

When you switch items, the highlight moves and only the selected note changes underneath. That makes it easy to compare a few short explanations while staying in the same reading position.

A selector usually means there are a few quick notes worth checking before the deeper sections below.

What It Means On A Page

If you see a selector near the top of a page, it usually means the portal is surfacing two to four short concepts you should understand early, such as purpose, behavior, setup notes, or quick clarifications before the main reference content starts.
